Ajay Devgan is a chilled out guy: Aditya Singh Rajput

Hi guys! I found this interview on the Net!!
That long name need not pose problems of memory because Aditya Singh Rajput is better known by his nickname Addy in Bollywood and among Mumbai's modelling fraternity. This boy with the funky and weirdo hairdo who made his present strongly felt as Urmila Matondkar's forever confused brother in Jahnu Barua's Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara, is now doing an important role in Ajay Devgun's directorial debut film U, Me Aur Hum. At 22, Addy has no regrets about having stepped into modelling four-and-a-half years ago when he was a little over 17. The money from the endorsements gives him the chance to pick and choose. TWF correspondent Shoma A. Chatterji talks to this promising actor. Let's hear it from the beginning.
I am Punjabi from Delhi and I began modelling while I was in school. The turning point came with an all- India screen test judged by Mahesh Bhatt and Raj Kaushal for a Hero Honda ad that put me together with Saurav Ganguly and Hrithik Roshan. But even before this, I did a music video with my weird haircut for Harbhajan Singh with Vaibhavi Merchant directing it. In fact, I had done around 70 commercials before Jahnu Barua chose me for Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara.
And how did Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara happen?
It just happened because of the endorsements. It was a big challenge for me in my first role in films. The character was that of a funky, brash young boy, self-centred to a fault and yet puzzled about what is happening to his father and the rest of the family. It got me the right kind of recognition for a newcomer.
What role are you playing in U Me Aur Hum?
It is a small but a very special cameo with the MP3 model Hazel cast opposite me in the film. I am not supposed to talk about the story or my character till the film is released. Let us just say that if you miss the beginning and the end of the film you will have missed me completely. Suffice to say that the film is in flashback and I am part of the present but now please do not go on to add two and two to make five! U Me Aur Hum is a film with many layers and the title is metaphorical. I consider it a great honour to have been able to work with my favourite actors Ajay-Sir and Kajol Ma'am at the beginning of my career. Dharmendra Sharma, the editor of the film, recommended my name to co-producer Kumar Mangat for another film. I was not chosen for that film but I was thrilled when I got a call for this role in U, Me Aur Hum within two days and I did not even have to audition for the role.
What can you say about Ajay Devgun the director?
He is a chilled out guy but completely down to earth. I have never felt like a newcomer from the day I met him through Sharma. We had a blast during the shoot and the team was, to repeat a cliché, like family.I am a natural and a versatile actor. He was totally engrossed in the film when he was directing and nothing but nothing would take him away from his work.
Let's hear about this famous prank you played on your co-actor Hazel during the shoot of U, Me Aur Hum?
In the film, I am playing a mischievous young boy trying to woo Hazel who is an Anglo-Indian. I made her believe that later on in the film, she had to switch over to a traditional Indian mode of dressing with sari, bindi and the rest of the stuff.I also told her that she would have to speak in shuddh Hindi and behave like an Indian girl. She believed me and began rehearsing with her friends back home to get the perfect stuff. I also told Ajay Sir about it, fearing that he would scold me. But he did not. I also sent ahead and began to teach her shuddh Hindi and cultural stuff. When she learnt it was all rubbish, she was angry but we all had a hearty laugh over it. Actually, it was in keeping with the character I play I in the film, that of a mischievous prankster.
How would you describe yourself at this stage of your career?
My looks are extremely mobile and flexible. I can look equally credible as a beggar off the streets and an NRI. Yet, I surrender myself to the director's demands once I have signed on the dotted line for a film.I look at commercial modelling today like acting because the logistics are the same –there is a script, a storyline, the commercial is shot on 35 mm with make-up and costume in place, there are dramatics and you may have to dance, jump, fight and do acrobatic stuff, just as an actor has to do in films. I improvise a lot on the sets if the director permits me to but in the final analysis, I am a director's actor, period. But I am too young to be hero-material just yet and I am patient enough to wait. My endorsements permit me the financial viability to wait and my family, currently in the US, is extremely supportive. I am looking forward to around two or three completely commercial films in the future but I am in no hurry at all.

Mystery of CIA in Danger (short update)

No parts for this one, either! Thanks, Janani [gabriella montez] for the update!!:
The mystery begins with all CIA members getting threat notes. (except Nikki...Ishaan's was probably meant to warn her, too). Ishaan, Suchi and Rohit are discussing their notes at HQ, when they hear a sound. On going outside, they find one of Ishaan and Nikki's neighbours - Rahul a small kid who want to join CIA. The CIA doesnt agree, saying he is underage, when Farhan comes. Someone tried to kill him by push a pot from terrace over him, while he was getting onto his cycle. There was a threat note inside the pot. When Ishaan asks Rahul, he says he didnt do it. Next day while coming back 4rm school a tempo van tries to kill Ishaan. he falls down and rolls over to save himself. He uses sum form of a shooter to attach a bolt-kind-of-thing to the tempo. Then Farhan & Rohit come and help Ishaan. Rohit manages to note down the tempo no. The CIA next go to Shrini, seeking the tempo's owner. Shrini calls and find the owners name. The owner turns out to be a famous person in Cambala. Then all of them go to DLK. He and CIA go to the owner (the person was a pretty big businessman or sumthing, so help from police was required, and DLK is the easiest guy to bamboozle!!).
The man, Mr. Vohra, says there was nothing like that could have happened for that certain tempo is damaged completely. He shows them the tempo at the garage as proof. The mechanic assures them all that the tempo is not in a condition to drive, even. DLK and the owner blame CIA. Ishaan suddenly remembers the bolt-sort-of-thing he shot at the van. He checks the van and finds it there. Ishaan is now confirmed that its the same tempo that tried to run him down. He overhears the mechanic talking to someone abt the police coming there and also warning that person. The mechanic also talks about the money due to him. Back in HQ, everyone discusses about who the attacker might be. Nikki suggests it might be old enemies who went to jail through cases that CIA solved. The idea appeals to everyone and Suchi uses some sort of technology and finds out that there are 9 such people who may be wanting revenge AND may be free to do it. Then Nikki goes to DLK to find out which of those 9 people have escaped from jail. DLK refuses to tell her. So Nikki pretends to call Rohit and tell him that DLK doesn't know anything...then she pretends to get the news from Rohit that the case is about to be solved and DLK's promotion will be cancelled again. DLK gets alarmed and agrees to help her and tells her the names of 5 people, Vickina, Mogaveer, Koiba, Pandey and one more person.
Suchi says Shrini might be able to help them find out who it is. Next day, Nikki gets a phone call frm Suchi telling her to meet at the same spot as the previous day. Nikki goes there and the Ishaan, Rohit, Farhan go to Shrini's office. But the call was a trap and the attacker tries to kidnap Nikki when she goes to that spot. Meanwhile Suchi comes to Shrini's office, apologising for being late, and the five (CIA 4+Shrini) discover the phone was a fake. Suchi suspects Vickina of being the attacker, as she's the only woman among the suspects. Shrini and CIA go to the spot where Nikki and Suchi had met the other day, and they find Nikki running away from the attacker after giving him (for it WAS a him) and his helper some good karate punches! Nikki is saved and the CIA return to the HQ. Farhan says that the villain is so clever he knows everythin abt them and says he might be watchin them even now. So the five then use Ishaan's secret door (another gadget!) to get out, to keep the attacker in dark about their meetings. Rohit says he'll be a little late next day coz he needs to repair his cell. The remaining four meet at HQ the next day and find the code that the villain has been using to kill them. They discover that the villain is attacking one of them everyday, at the time corresponding with their date of birth, and in alphabetical order.
Farhan, Ishaan and Nikki have been attacked, so it's Rohit's turn that day! And his birthday is on the twefth and the time is 11:55hrs....Rohit's gonna be attacked in 5 minutes!! Suchi tries to call but his cell phone doesn't work and his mom picks up the landline and says he has left. on the way , wen Rohit was coming, he cs that the road is blocked by some branches. wen he pics the up,a knife cums throwing at the branch( it will b da same villain of the CIAS first mystery Crossword.) the villain chases rohit, he escapes and reaches the ware house. there he tells evrything to da CIA gang. then the next day it was Suchis turn. the plan to catch the villain. at the next night, villain coms 2 suchis house. she pretends to read book in balcony, then goes inside house. (shadow will be seen like suchi is walking and reading inside da house. but it will be Ishaans idea of a gadget.) the villain aims and shoots. and wen he tries to escape DLK and police come and surround him. he tries to get out but he is caught. then at da ware house Ishaan explain abt the walking shadow. the they find a cover written- " to CIA". they open it and find many photos taken during the mystery. Rahul comes and says that he took those photos and he is capable of being in CIA. Everyone laughs.
THE END (some editing is left)

Mystery of the Mistaken Identity (Written)

No parts for this one!! One hour mystery only. So here it is:
Before music in some place near some kind of harbour, 'villainous' men bring a sack with someone in it (alive, don't worry...person inside was moving) and take the sack to top in some kind of dingy, room-sort-of place and place the sack. The apparent head of the gang circles an ad in a newspaper and says,"Brijmohan Pandey. Ab aayega oot pahar ke neeche." After music, switch to Ishaan, Farhan, riding to school (or perhaps from school; they had uniforms on, anyway). Farhan:"You know, we are the only ones left." Ishaan:"Yes. Nikki gayee hai nani ke yahan, shaam tak wapas aa jayegi. Aur Suchi bhi out of town gayee hai, koi marriage event attend karne ke liye. Aur Rohit pichhle kuchh dinon se humare saath school hi nahi aa raha hai." Farhan:"Uske sarpe hai na aajkal boxing ka bhoot sawaar hai. Aajkal woh saara din boxing ka practice karta rehta hai." Ishaan:"Boxing? Bas yahi bach gaya tha!" And they ride away. Meanwhile the phone rings in someone's house. The master of the house calls his servants but receives no reply and is forced to pick the phone up himself, grumbling about lazy servants. He says hello and the person (the head villain, who was shown before music) at the other end of the phone says he has captured the master-of-the-house's son (the villain guy called the man Brijmohan Pandey), and if he wants to see his son safe, he must do what he (the villain) says. Mr. Pandey doesn't believe the villain guy and tells him to stop talking rubbish. The villain guy tells Mr. Pandey to check where his son is. Mr. Pandey immediately checks his son, Rajeev's room and not finding him there, gets scared and believes the villain (how does he know that Rajeev isn't in some other part of the house??). Just when they are speaking, Rajeev Pandey enters the room, eating something and saying,"Kya hua Dad? Aapne awaaz kyun diya?" Mr. Pandey rushes to him and asks him if he is OK. Rajeev is surprised with the question. Mr. Pandey returns to the phone and tells he villain to stop joking...his son is with him. Villain tells Mr. Pandey to speak to his son and we hear a boy's voice (and I recognised it...but wished I hadn't) saying,"Dad, pata nahin yeh log kaun hain aur kyun mujhe yahan le kar aaye hain. Leave me, you fools!" The villain then says in order to see his son alive, Mr. Pandey must stop fighting a certain case. Mr. Pandey tells the villain to shut up and not call again or he'll call the police. The villain gives Mr. Pandey more time and says he'll call later then cuts the line. Next we see Mr. Pandey driving Rajeev to school himself despite his son's protests. Mr. Pandey explains to him about the telephone call and refuses to take any risk. Rajeev tells his dad to stop the car a little before the gate and walks the few remaining steps.
Meanwhile Ishaan and Farhan, inside the school, spot Rajeev's dad dropping him and tease him about being a daddy's boy when he enters. Rajeev says it's nothing like that and tells them briefly about the telephone call. On hearing the villain's gonna call again. Ishaan says they must do something before the next call comes (isn't that jumping in too fast?). In the HQ, Ishaan is busy making some new gadget and Nikki asks what it is. Ishaan says it's a gadget that can record telephone calls for upto 180 hours (impressive, huh?). Ishaan is busy perfecting it, when Suchi and Farhan enter and Suchi asks what's going on. Ishaan asks where Rohit is (I know that quite well!!) and Farhan replies he SMSed him but got no reply. Ishaan is puzzled coz that's not at all like Rohit. Then Rajeev enters. He asks where Rohit is and Ishaan says they were wondering, too (I'm sure the viewers didn't!). He says Rohit's phone is coming unavailable and just then Suchi gets a call. It's Rohit's mom who is worried coz she is in Chandigarh with Rohit's dad and Rohit's phone is unavailable. Suchi says Rohit might be at some friend's place...she (Rohit's mom) must be knowing what he is like and tells her not to worry. Then she reports Rohit's mom's side of the conversation to the others. Rajeev says Rohit didn't go to his house in the morning...he used to come everyday to study Maths (boxing practice, indeed!). The five...sorry, four, Rohit is missing...start on some deductions. Ishaan:"Rohit aaj subah Rajeev ke ghar jaane wala tha, Maths padne..." Suchi:"Par Rohit nahin gaya." Farhan:"Aur aaj hi subah, Rajeev ke dad ke paas ek threat call...ke Rajeev kidnap hua hai." Suchi:"Par Rajeev kidnap nahin hua." Ishaan:"And Rohit is missing." Farhan:"Matlab...kahin aisa to nahin...!" Suchi:"Oh no!" Next scene shows one man bringing food to the prisoner in the hideout and the prisoner is indeed Rohit (any fan of CIA would know that since the telephone call...but why ROHIT?? Why not Farhan or Ishaan??). Back in HQ, deductions are on. Suchi:"Matlab...Rajeev ke jagah Rohit kidnap ho gaya?!" Farhan:"Kuchh aisa hi lagata hai." Rajeev:"Mujhe dad ko sab kuchh bata dena chahiye." Suchi:"No Rajeev. Agar tum apne dad ko bata doge na, then he'll inform the police." Farhan:"Aur agar DLK iss case mein involve ho gaya na, to humare problems kam hone ke bajaye double ho jayegi." Nikki:"Aur humare paas koi proof bhi nahin hai, ki Rohit bhaiya hi kidnap huye hain." Suchi:"We have to solve this case on our own, guys. Sabse pehle hume pata karna chahiye ke woh call aaya kahan se." Ishaan:"Rajeev, kitne baje phone kiya tha kidnapper ne?" Rajeev:"Subah saat baje." Ishaan:"Isse pehle ki woh kidnapper dubara phone kare, main abhi Rajeev ke ghar jaata hoon aur apna yeh telephone-bug install kar deta hoon." Farhan:"Tab tak main aur Suchi Shrini ke office jaate hain, aur check karte hain ke subah ka call kahan se aaya tha." Nikki:"Aur bhaiya main?" Suchi:"Nikki, tum yahi rehna, aur Rohit ka phone try karna. Agar connect hua, then inform us immediately."
Next scene, Rajeev's house. Ishaan is installing the tele-bug and Rajeev is constantly telling him to hurry up. Ishaan tells him to relax. Then Mr. Pandey comes home. Hearing his car outside, Rajeev warns Ishaan. Ishaan tells Rajeev to hold him at the door, somehow. Rajeev delays opening the door at first and DLK, who is with Mr. Pandey asks Mr. Pandey to open the door with his own key. Just as Mr. Pandey is about to do so, Rajeev opens the door. Mr. Pandey asks what kept him, but without waiting for an answer, takes DLK inside. Before they can go into the drawing room, where the phone is, Rajeev asks his dad what DLK is doing there. Mr. Pandey says he is Inspector D. L. Kulkarni who will be investigating the phone case, and leads DLK to where the phone is. Rajeev, thinking of Ishaan, follows immediately. Mr. Pandey takes DLK to where the phone is, with Rajeev following closely. Thankfully Ishaan has finished the job by then, and is out of sight. However, DLK spots Ishaan's bag and asks whose it is. Rajeev is thinking of an answer, when Ishaan enters the room. Ishaan:"Thanks Rajeev." (holds up a notebook) DLK:"Arre! Arre tum! (to Mr. Pandey) Yeh yahan kya kar raha hai, haan?" Mr. Pandey:"Aap Ishaan ko jaante hain?" DLK:"Ha ha! Main? Isse bahut achchhi tarah se jaanta hoon. Itni achchhi tarah se jaanta hoon, jitana main apani patani ko bhi nahin jaanta, ha ha ha!" Ishaan:"Anyway, I think mujhe ab chalna chahiye. Waise thanks, Rajeev, for the notes. Main tujhe kal class mein wapas kar doonga. (picks up his bag) Bye uncle." Mr. Pandey:"Bye bye." DLK:"Arre arre arre, ruk jao! Itni bhi kya jaldi hai? Mera investigation dekh ke chale jao. Tumhare...(pokes Ishaan with his stick)...kaam aayega." Ishaan smiles politely (to hide his laughter, I guess...well, I couldn't hide mine! Not that I needed to, thankfully). DLK:"Waise, phone call kitne bajey aaya tha?" Mr. Pandey:"Savere saat bajey." DLK:"Of course, of course, I know it. Ye kaunse phone pe aaya tha?" Mr. Pandey:"Inspector, humare ghar mein sirf ek hi phone hai." DLK:"Aaha. Of course, of course I know. Main toh bas investigation kar raha tha...(DLK goes to the phone)...yeh phone hai...(picks it up)...dial tone toh theek hai...(Ishaan rolls his eyes. DLK then spots the tele-bug sticking out and pulls at it, Ishaan and Rajeev are tensed)...yeh kuchh bahar nikal aaya hai. Theek karwa lena, ha ha ha." Ishaan and Rajeev are relieved. DLK continues questioning Mr. Pandey. DLK:"Waise, aapke ghar mein kitne corridors hain?" Rajeev:"Teen." DLK:"Teen. Teen ka matlab...chhai. Mujhe chhai constables employ karne honge. Ek corridor ke uss taraf, ek iss taraf, aur chaar beech mein. (to Mr. Pandey) Waise aapko darne ki koi zaroorat nahi hai. Kanoon ke...(picks up his stick and touches Mr. Pandey with it)...kanoon ke haath bahut lambey hote hain...(to Ishaan)...idhar aa jao...(takes him a little away)...agar kuchh pata chale, toh sabse pehle mujhe batana." Ishaan:"Of course, Inspector (turns his face and rolls his eyes)."
In Shrini's office, Shrini finds the number from which the call came (he spoke to someone in some language...a Marathi or something of that sort, I think). The number is 425140 (don't try calling it, please...but then it's not valid anyway, I guess). Farhan says it's a Cambala number and Suchi traces it to C/102, Joseph Road, Cambala 35, on Net using Shrini's laptop. Next we see Ishaan and Farhan biking to the address, but it's a public booth. The man in charge of it can't help, either. Both boys are disappointed as they've hit a dead end, but just then Ishaan gets a call from Rajeev who says the kidnapper called again and he is going to the HQ with the tele-bug. The two boys leave for the HQ, too. In the HQ, the recording is heard, with teh villain threatening Mr. Pandey again. The boy's voice is also heard and the five (4 from CIA+Rajeev) recognise it as Rohit's voice and their suspicion that Rohit has been kidnapped is confirmed. Ishaan tells Suchi to rewind and play the recording again. On hearing a certain part again (twice, he told Suchi to replay it again) Ishaan points out sounds of a ship and that of welding, too. Farhan says ship means Cambala Harbour Port and there's only one place there from where sounds of welding can be heard, and he says the name of the place (didn't catch it properly, sorry!). Ishaan decides that must be the place where Rohit is and tells Farhan and Suchi to go. Nikki calls,"Bhaiya main?" Ishaan tells her to go with Rajeev and inform them if the kidnapper calls again. Next we see Ishaan, Suchi and Farhan in the place that Farhan mentioned. Suchi wonders how they'll find Rohit in such a huge place. Ishaan listens to the sounds around and says that Rohit is somewhere there for the sounds are the same. Ishaan hands the other two digital-watch-like things, which he says are like walkie-talkies...when a certain button is pressed, you can get through to the other pieces through them. Then the three enter the building and split up. They find Rohit's backpack and wristband. Then Suchi finds water in a jug, some rope and Rohit's shoe in one place and summons the others there. They decide Rohit must have been there but the people have now changed hideouts. They search for clues that Rohit might have left, with that special blue light (I dunno what it's called, but, it's attached at the end of a pen and unless seen with that light, writings with that pen are invisible). They find a rough drawing on the wall and Ishaan snaps a pic.
Short Summary of the Remaining Part:
Back where Rohit is prisoner, he asks for some water which the goons splash on his face (typical baddies!) and go away, leaving the glass there. Rohit manages to jerk the glass off the table (he was tied and sitting on the floor) and break it. He cuts his ropes with the broken glass and goes outside, where he is caught (so much for being smart!). On the other hand, the rest of the CIA decipher the drawing to be of Stone House, a place in Cambala Hills. Ishaan gives Nikki the Tracker Screen and hides the transmitter in his shoe, and leaves for Stone House with Farhan and Suchi, telling Nikki to get DLK in case there is danger. The trio reach the place...the road slopes down to the entrance to Stone House. Suchi falls down but is okay. She sees a sign saying 'Stone House' and reports this, using the walkie-talkies. Ishaan comes down, too, but Farhan twists his foot and remains up (he was to come down slowly, later). Ishaan and Suchi enter Stone House and find Rohit and untie him. But the goons arrive and they are caught (second time for Rohit!). Meanwhile, Farhan has come down. Rohit manages to shift himself to a position behind Ishaan...atleast, close enough to use the walkie-talkie on his hand to speak to Farhan. He tells him the situation and also that there are guards all over. Farhan is, therefore, a little more careful and manages to get past the first guards he sees. Back in their room, Ishaan manages to fall down in a position behind Rohit's hands and unties them with his teeth. Rohit undoes his legs and then Ishaan and they both undo Suchi. They arce to the exit but hear someone coming so the move sideways, Rohit holding a stick. It's Farhan who has come and he tries to tell them something by signalling but they don't understand and move out...to be caught (Again! What fine detectives!). The goons, seeing so many people have found the place decide to leave, taking the four with them.
Now it's Nikki and DLK to the rescue (as usual). They reach the correct area. Next we see the CIA (minus Nikki) being loaded into the back of a truck and the head sits next to the driver and tells him to drive fast. After sometime, seeing the truck is on the completely wrong road, the head asks the driver where he is going and gets the reply..."Tumhare Sasuraal." It was DLK in the truck, dressed as the driver (since when did DLK become so smart?) and when he shows himself, the head takes out a gun and pointing it at him, gets him out and takes him to the back of the truck, DLK blabbering his usual way. The head opens the back and his men are thrown ot one by one. More police come and catch everyone, including the head. The CIA come out of the back of the truck and the goons are taken away...and some usual chatter between CIA and DLK follows. DLK tells the CIA to get a picture of him printed in Cambala Times and Ishaan says the front page is only for the CIA and DLK is not pleased. Next scene: in the HQ, Rohit says that fortunately he was kidnapped...had it been Farhan, he wouldn't have been able to deal wih the kidnappers. Then he says he has to go for boxing practice and is about to leave when Nikki tells him to take his boxing gloves and hands him his Maths copy. Everyone except Rohit laughs.

CIA RETURNS!!!...IT'S CONFIRMED!

Our butterfly brings news!!!! OK, so I have got news, I just said that to draw attention to the inauguration of our Mascot!!(now that sounds REALLY grand, doesn't it?)

So, as anyone reading the comments should know, return of CIA is confirmed! Not as CIA 2, though, the ad merely says ''All-New Episodes of CIA'' and they start on 14th June. But then 14th June is a Saturday. CIA used to air from Monday to Wednesday. I wonder if the new episodes will be shown during CIA Files? But that'll mean seeing CIA only ONE DAY a week! I hope I'm not right!

But the ad seems pretty interesting! And it definitely promises fun! There is a new Nikki...is her name really Jasmine?...and she looks like Ishaan's, that is, Aditya's, REAL sister. I dunno if he has one, but the new Nikki definitely looks pretty much like him. Anyone knows if she IS Aditya's real sister....if he has one? And Rohit's disguises get better with his range expanding to the other gender...the ads show him disguised as a woman. Some good computer technology is also shown.

I'm not sure EXACTLY what it is, but it looks good. And a truck ALMOST ran Ishaan over. The caption was 'More Action' but I would really prefer less life-threatening risks (although it does add more thrill). So better disguises, more technology and more action is confirmed, but I hope it'll be coupled with REALLY villainous villains (I've always felt like laughing at the previous ones), natural acting (I dunno what the new Nikki is like) AND definitely, DLK!!! I can NOT bear ZLK! He is too stupid and not at all good at comedy from my POV.

But do tell me.....what would you all like to see MOST in the new episodes? Do comment!!

ALERT, ALERT, ALERT!!: First episode of CIA Season II airs on Saturday, 14th June, at 6:00PM IST. First mystery is Mystery of the Mistaken Identity.
